Summary: | Ten liquid crystal panels prepared by injecting ten kinds of liquid crystal materials having voluntary polarizations individually between a TFT substrate having no storage capacity and a common substrate are measured on the transmissivity at the time when voltages (7V and 5 V) are applied to the liquid crystals. In the cases of applied voltages of 7 V and 5 V, a transmissivity of 50 % or more is obtained, if the conditions of |2Ps·A| = |7Clc·A| and |2Ps·A| = |5Clc·A| are satisfied among the magnitude Ps(nC/cm2) of the voluntary polarization per unit area of the liquid crystal material, the electrode area A (cm2) of pixels and the liquid crystal capacity Clc (nF/cm2) per unit area, and a transmissivity of 80 % or more is obtained, if the conditions of |2Ps·A| = |4.5Clc·A| and |2Ps·A| = |3Clc·A| are satisfied. A sufficiently high transmissivity can be obtained without any storage capacity.
La présente invention concerne dix panneaux à cristaux liquides, préparés en injectant dix types de matériaux à cristaux liquides ayant des polarisations volontaires individuellement entre un substrat TFT n'ayant aucune capacité de stockage et un substrat commun, et dont la transmissivité est mesurée au moment où les tensions (7 V et 5 V) sont appliquées aux cristaux liquides. Dans les cas de tensions appliquées de 7 V et 5 V, une transmissivité de 50 % ou plus est obtenue, si les conditions de |2Ps·A| = |7Clc·A| et |2Ps·A| = |5Clc·A| sont satisfaites pour la magnitude Ps(nC/cm2) de la polarisation volontaire par unité de surface du matériau à cristaux liquides, la surface de pixels de l'électrode A (cm2) et la capacité des cristaux liquides Clc (nF/cm2) par unité de surface, et une transmissivité de 80 % ou plus est obtenue, si les conditions de |2Ps·A| = |4,5Clc·A| et |2Ps·A| = |3Clc·A| sont satisfaites. Une transmissivité suffisamment élevée peut être obtenue sans aucune capacité de stockage. |
