Summary:The present invention is directed to an improved illuminated umbrella (10), which has a colored luminous shaft (11). The solid translucent shaft is illuminated by multiple light-emitting diodes of a color matching that of multiple optical fibers embedded in the shaft, thus optimizing the shaft's luminosity. Colored illumination of the umbrella improves the safety of pedestrian users by making the umbrella more noticeable to motorists and other pedestrians, thus helping the avert collisions. Colored illumination of the umbrella also makes it more attractive, especially when the color of the canopy (12) is coordinated with that of the LEDs and optical fibers. L'invention concerne un parapluie lumineux amélioré (10) possédant un manche lumineux de couleur (11). Le manche translucide solide est éclairé par de multiples diodes électroluminescentes d'une couleur correspondant à celle de multiples fibres optiques intégrées dans le manche, optimisant ainsi la luminosité du manche. L'éclairage de couleur du parapluie améliore la sécurité des piétons utilisateurs en rendant le parapluie plus visible aux automobilistes et aux autres piétons, et contribuant ainsi à éviter les collisions. L'éclairage de couleur du parapluie le rend également plus attrayant, en particulier lorsque la couleur de la toile (12) est coordonnée à celle des LED et des fibres optiques.
