The present invention is directed to a novel pharmaceutical composition suitable for ophthalmic use comprising nanoparticles dispersed in a liquid dispersion medium, wherein said nanoparticles comprise a cyclooxygenase-2 selective inhibitor having adsorbed on the surface thereof at least one surface stabilizer. The ophthalmic formulation of the present invention is stable, non-irritating and sufficiently bioavailable. The invention also encompasses a process for making as well as a kit for preparing the novel ophthalmic formulation. La présente invention concerne une nouvelle composition pharmaceutique appropriée pour un usage ophtalmique, comprenant des nanoparticules dispersées dans un milieu de dispersion liquide, dans lequel lesdites nanoparticules comprennent un inhibiteur sélectif de la cyclooxygénase-2 ayant adsorbé sur sa surface au moins un stabilisant de surface. La formulation ophtalmique de cette invention est stable, non irritante et suffisamment biodisponible. Cette invention a également trait à un procédé de réalisation ainsi qu'à un kit de préparation de la nouvelle formulation ophtalmique.
