Summary: | The invention relates to a method of obtaining peptides from random libraries of recombinant phages comprising epitopes that can react with hepatitis A convalescent sera, said peptides having a sequence of aminoacids that is not exactly the same as the aminoacid sequence found in the peptides of the proteins forming the immunogenic and neutralising domains of the hepatitis A virus (HAV). The aforementioned peptides or combinations thereof can be used in the detection of antibodies against HAV in biological samples and to induce immune responses in humans and animals.
