A method for deploying software in a computer system (10) includes providing a deployment maintenance mechanism (DMM) which includes drivers for hardware. A deployment mechanism which includes an image with drivers for hardware and which identifies hardware associated with the computer (12), along with a native operating system, are also provided. For hardware detected by the deployment mechanism and not having an associated driver in the image, a driver from the DMM is copied into the deployment mechanism using the native operating system. The native operating system is then re-booted to deploy drivers for hardware associated with the computer (12). L'invention concerne une méthode pour la mise en oeuvre d'un logiciel dans un système informatique (10). Cette méthode consiste à fournir un mécanisme de maintenance de mise en oeuvre (DMM) comprenant des lecteurs pour un matériel de traitement de données. L'invention concerne un mécanisme de mise en oeuvre comprenant une image associée à des lecteurs destinés au matériel de traitement de données, et identifiant le matériel associé à l'ordinateur (12), conjointement à un système d'exploitation d'origine.
