It is intended to provide an instrument for detecting a bacterium, a method of detecting a bacterium and a kit for detecting a bacterium by which a bacterium (in particular, an aerobic spore-bearing bacterium) contaminating a test sample can be quickly and accurately examined by a convenient procedure. The instrument for detecting a bacterium as described above is a microarray-type instrument wherein an oligonucleotide based on a base sequence specific to the genus or the species to which the target aerobic spore-bearing bacterium belongs is immobilized on a substrate. The aerobic spore-bearing bacterium in a test sample can be easily, quickly and accurately detected and identified depending on the establishment or non-establishment of the hybridization between a probe prepared from the test sample and the oligonucleotide immobilized on the substrate as described above. L'invention porte sur un instrument de détection de bactérie, un procédé de détection de bactérie et un kit de détection de bactérie permettant d'examiner rapidement et avec précision une bactérie (en particulier une bactérie portant une spore aérobie) contaminant un spécimen, grâce à une simple procédure. L'instrument de détection de bactérie décrit ci-dessus est un instrument de type micromatriciel où un oligonucléotide reposant sur une séquence de base spécifique au genre ou à l'espèce d'appartenance de la bactérie portant une spore aérobie cible, est immobilisé sur un substrat. La bactérie portant un spore aérobie dans un spécimen peut être détectée et identifiée facilement, rapidement et avec précision selon l'établissement ou non de l'hybridation entre une sonde élaborée à partir du spécimen et l'oligonucléotide immobilisé sur le substrat comme cela est décrit plus haut.
