Movement of a content accumulated in an accumulation medium to another recording medium is surely limited to a number of movements permitted by the copyright owner. A recoding device includes: an accumulation unit where at least one data file concerning a content and at least one management information file are accumulated; a control unit for instructing movement of a content to a recording medium; and a drive for recording data concerning the content in recording medium mounted. The management information file contains access information for accessing the data file. In response to the instruction of movement, the accumulation unit reads out and outputs a data file of the content according to the access information; the drive records the data on the read out content in the recording medium; and the control unit makes the access information unusable.
