A light emitting panel comprising an aluminum substrate (2) where an anodic oxide coating (10) is formed on an aluminum base (8), an Ni mesh (5) disposed oppositely to the aluminum substrate through a spacer (4) having an opening (3), a phosphor (7) disposed oppositely to the aluminum substrate of Ni mesh through a transparent electrode (6), and discharge gas encapsulated in the opening of the spacer. When a voltage is applied between the aluminum base and a counter electrode, plasma of the discharge gas is generated and the phosphor located closer to the counter electrode side than an interval holding material is irradiated with the plasma to emit light. Un panneau luminescent comprenant un substrat en aluminium (2) dans lequel se forme un revêtement d'oxyde anodique (10) sur une base en aluminium (8), un maille en Ni (5) disposée à l'opposé du substrat en aluminium au moyen d'un écarteur (4) ayant une ouverture (3), un phosphore (7) disposé à l'opposé du substrat en aluminium de maille en Ni au moyen d'une électrode transparente (6), un gaz d'évacuation encapsulé dans l'ouverture de l'écarteur. Lorsqu'une tension est appliquée entre la base en aluminium et une contre-électrode, du plasma du gaz de décharge est généré et le phosphore situé plus près du côté de la contre-électrode qu'un intervalle contenant du matériau est irradié par le plasma pour émettre de la lumière.
