Die Erfindung betrifft Metallpigmente mit Beschichtung, wobei die Beschichtung die Metallpigmente umhüllt und chemisch vernetzbare(s) und/oder unter Einwirkung von Wärme, IR-Strahlung, UV-Strahlung und/oder Elektronenstrahlen vernetzbare(s) oligomere(s) und/oder polymere(s) Bindemittel umfasst, wobei die beschichteten Metallpigmente als Pulver, welches eine Korngrösse d50 von weniger als 190 µm aufweist, vorliegen und nach Aushärtung in einem Pulverlack korrosionsbeständig sind. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner eine Beschichtungszusammensetzung, ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der beschichteten Metallpigmente sowie deren Verwendung.
