Disclosed are 2-(amino or substituted amino)-5-(substituted oxymethyl)-phenol compounds according to the Formula (I). Also, compositions for the oxidative dyeing of keratin fibers, comprising a medium suitable for dyeing and a compound of the Formula (II), as defined herein. The substituents of both formulae may themselves be substituted or unsubstituted. Further, methods for oxidative dyeing of keratin fibers, comprising applying such compositions in the presence of an oxidizing agent, for a period which is sufficient to develop the desired coloration. L'invention a trait à des composés de 2-(amino ou amino substitué)-5-(oxyméthyle substitué)-phénol, qui sont représentés par la formule (I). La présente invention concerne également des compositions permettant la teinture par oxydation de fibres de kératine, qui contiennent un milieu permettant la teinture et un composé représenté par la formule (II) telle que définie dans le descriptif de l'invention. Les substituants des deux formules peuvent eux-mêmes être substitués ou non substitués. L'invention se rapporte aussi à des procédés de teinture par oxydation de fibres de kératine, qui consistent à appliquer de telles compositions en présence d'un agent d'oxydation, pendant une durée suffisante pour que la coloration désirée soit atteinte.
