L'invention concerne un colorant d'enregistrement de transfert thermique qui permet d'obtenir une matière enregistrée possédant une teinte, une densité de couleurs et une solidité à la lumière excellentes. Cette invention a également trait à une encre d'enregistrement de transfert thermique et à une feuille d'enregistrement de transfert thermique utilisant respectivement un tel colorant. Ledit colorant destiné à l'enregistrement de transfert thermique est représenté par la formule générale (I), dans laquelle les symboles sont définis tels que dans la description. L'encre et la feuille d'enregistrement de transfert thermique utilisent ce colorant.
