La présente invention concerne un procédé de positionnement précis pour les dentistes. A cet effet, on réalise un couplage rigide d'un élément de base à une zone maxillo-faciale. On insère dans la bouche, dans la zone maxillo-faciale, un objet comprenant l'un au moins du couple outil et guide d'outil. On détermine enfin une position de l'objet considéré par rapport à l'élément rigide considéré, sans faire référence à aucun élément extérieur à la bouche.
