An anti-inflammatory agent which contains as an active ingredient either a 4-aminotetrahydroquinoline derivative represented by the formula (I): (I) (wherein R represents hydrogen, (un)substituted lower alkyl, (un)substituted aryl, etc.; R and R are the same or different and each represents hydrogen, (un)substituted lower alkyl, etc.; R and R are the same or different and each represents hydrogen, etc.; R represents hydrogen, etc.; R represents (un)substituted cycloalkyl, (un)substituted aryl, etc.; R represents (un)substituted lower alkyl, (un)substituted aryl, etc.; and R , R , R , and R are the same or different and each represents hydrogen, halogeno, (un)substituted lower alkyl, etc.) or a pharmacologically acceptable salt of the derivative.
