A process for producing a patterned oxide film on a substrate by dissolving an oxide forming powder in a solvent that is photosensitive and/or to which a photosensitiser is added to form a photosensitive solution of the oxide forming powder, depositing the solution on a substrate and drying it to form a film, masking an area of the film and exposing an unmasked area to a light source such as ultraviolet light to reduce the solubility of the unmasked area in a suitable solvent whereby the masked area can be selectively dissolved to leave the unmasked area having a desired pattern, and heating the unmasked area to form an oxide film having the desired pattern. L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'un film d'oxyde à motif sur un substrat. Ce procédé consiste : à dissoudre une poudre formant un oxyde dans un solvant qui est photosensible et/ou auquel un photosensibilisant a été ajouté afin de former une solution photosensible de la poudre formant un oxyde, à déposer la solution sur un substrat et à la sécher de manière à former un film, à masquer une zone du film et à exposer une zone non masquée à une source de lumière telle qu'une lumière ultraviolette afin de réduire la solubilité de la zone non masquée dans un solvant approprié, ce qui permet de dissoudre sélectivement la zone masquée pour obtenir ainsi un motif désiré de la zone non masquée, et à chauffer la zone non masquée pour former un film d'oxyde ayant un motif désiré.
