Summary:The present invention relates to a novel combustion process for the preparation of LiCoVO>4< useful as the cathode material in the rechargeable lithium-ion rocking chair cells by heating a composite mixture of LiNO>3<.3H>2<O, Co(NO>3<)>2<.6H>2<O and NH>43< with urea in aqueous medium to obtain LiCoVO>4<. La présente invention porte sur un nouveau procédé de combustion utilisé dans la préparation de LiCoVO4 utile comme matériau cathodique dans les piles ion-lithium rechargeables montées sur mouvement oscillant. Ce procédé consiste à chauffer un mélange composite de LiNO3.3H2O, Co(NO3)2.6H2O et NH4VO3 avec de l'urée dans un milieu aqueux pour obtenir LiCoVO4.
