Summary:It is intended to provide a transformant carrying a DNA, which encodes a foreign protein having a lactate dehydrogenase activity and exhibiting such an affinity for a pyruvic acid substrate as being comparable or even exceeding the affinity for a pyruvic acid substrate of the intrinsic pyruvate decarboxylase in the host, transferred thereinto. Using this transformant, lactic acid can be stably produced in a large amount in a host having a pyruvate decarboxylase gene. L'invention concerne un transformant supportant un ADN codant pour une protéine étrangère présentant une activité lactate déshydrogénase et une affinité pour un substrat d'acide pyruvique comparable ou supérieure à l'affinité pour un substrat d'acide pyruvique de la pyruvate décarboxylase intrinsèque dans l'hôte, ledit ADN étant transféré dans le transformant. L'utilisation de ce transformant permet de produire un acide lactique avec stabilité et en grande quantité dans un hôte comprenant un gène pyruvate décarboxylase.
