The present invention relates to bacterial isolates identified by their 16S rRNA DNA, that cause periodontal disease in companion animals, polynucleotide sequences contained therein, polypeptides encoded by such polynucleotide sequences and vaccines comprising such bacteria, polynucleotides, or polypeptides. Also provided are methods for treating and preventing periodontal disease and kits for detecting and treating periodontal disease kits for detecting and preventing periodontal disease. La présente invention concerne des nouveaux isolats bactériens identifiés par leur ADN ARNr 16S, provoquant une maladie parodontale chez des animaux domestiques. L'invention concerne également des séquences polynucléotidiques contenues dans ces nouveaux isolats, des polypeptides codés par ces séquences polynucléotidiques, ainsi que des vaccins comprenant ces bactéries, ces polynucléotides ou ces polypeptides. En outre, cette invention concerne des méthodes permettant de traiter et de prévenir une maladie parodontale ainsi que des trousses permettant de détecter et de traiter une maladie parodontale.
