A polyether ketone, characterized in that it has a primary particle diameter of 50 ñm or less; and a method for producing the polyether ketone, characterized in that a polymerization for producing a polyether ketone through the desalting polymerization condensation reaction is carried out in a condition wherein a polymer is precipitated. The polyether ketone has a reduced particle diameter, has an enhanced molecular weight, and is satisfactorily reduced in the content of impurities such as an alkali metal. La présente invention concerne une cétone de polyéther caractérisée en ce que son diamètre particulaire primaire n'excède par 50ñm. L'invention concerne également un procédé de production de cétone de polyéther caractérisé en ce qu'on mène, dans une condition propre à précipiter un polymère, une polymérisation visant à la production d'une cétone de polyéther par l'intermédiaire de la réaction dessalante de condensation par polymérisation. Cette cétone de polyéther présente un diamètre particulaire réduit pour une masse moléculaire accrue, tout en faisant preuve d'une teneur correctement réduite en impuretés et notamment en métal alcalin.
