Summary:An optical disc drive applicable to recording of organic dye based recording media, e.g. a CD−R (compact disc Recordable), in which the quantity of light is controlled at the time of writing by selectively using the detection results of the quantity of light S0(C+D) obtained from regions C and D on the rear side in the scanning direction of laser beam. An optical disc drive applicable to recording of organic dye based recording media, e.g. a CD-R compact disc Recordable, in which the quantity of light is controlled at the time of writing by selectively using the detection results of the quantity of light S0C+D obtained from regions C and D on the rear side in the scanning direction of laser beam.
