The desiccant solution from the multiple effect evaporator is conveyed to a desiccant spray chamber (106) that sprays the cooled desiccant solution into an air stream (130). The desiccant solution absorbs water vapor from the air stream (130) creating a desiccant and water solution. A conduit (124) transfers the water and desiccant solution to the multiple effect evaporator (102) for removal of the water from the desiccant solution. L'invention concerne un système et un procédé de déshumidification de l'air comprenant un évaporateur (102) à effets multiples qui crée une solution concentrée à base de déshydradant. La solution à base de déshydratant de l'évaporateur à effets multiples est transportée à une chambre de vaporisation (106) qui vaporise la solution refroidie dans le flux d'air (130). Ladite solution absorbe alors la vapeur d'eau du flux d'air (130), créant une solution à base de déshydradant et d'eau. Un conduit (124) transfère la solution à base de déshydradant et d'eau à l'évaporateur (102) à effets multiples en vue d'éliminer l'eau de la solution à base de déshydradant.
