L'invention concerne un catalyseur s'utilisant dans la production d'un ester d'acide carboxylique aliphatique inférieur, obtenu par la mise en réaction d'une oléfine inférieure et d'un ester d'acide aliphatique inférieur en phase gazeuse ; ce catalyseur présentant une activité diminuée par l'usure, on le régénère par chauffage afin d'augmenter son activité. Le catalyseur régénéré est réutilisé pour la production d'un ester d'acide carboxylique aliphatique inférieur.
