L'invention concerne des méthodes de traitement de maladies de prolifération cellulaire, de tumeurs associées à des infections virales, et de certaines infections virales. Dans les méthodes décrites, on utilise des composés qui inhibent des protéines 90 de choc thermique. De telles méthodes permettent de bloquer des cellules négatives ou déficientes en Rb dans la phase G2/M du cycle cellulaire et de provoquer rapidement leur destruction.
