Summary:An improved method and immunopharmacological composition for upregulating the expression of the co-stimulatory molecule B7 is provided. A beta 1,3-glucan-containing composition is provided that can upregulate the cell surface expression of B7 molecules on antigen presenting cells like macrophages, thereby allowing these antigen presenting cells to more effectively initiate adaptive immune responses to foreign antigens like pathogenic microorganisms and tumors. L'invention concerne un procédé amélioré et une composition immunopharmacologique destinés à réguler positivement l'expression de la molécule B7 co-stimulante. L'invention concerne aussi une composition contenant du beta 1,3 - glucane permettant de réguler positivement l'expression de la surface d'une cellule de molécules B7 sur des cellules présentatrices d'antigène, telles que des macrophages, ce qui permet à ces cellules d'amorcer de manière plus efficace des réponses immunitaires adaptatives à des antigènes étrangers tels que des micro-organismes pathogènes et des tumeurs.
