L'invention porte sur un procédé de production d'alcool prényle qui se caractérise en ce qu'il consiste à produire un recombinant par le transfert d'un ADN de recombinaison par expression ou d'un ADN pour l'intégration d'un génome. Ce recombinant contient un gène prényle diphosphate synthase ou un gène variant de celui-ci dans un hôte. Le procédé consiste à mettre en culture le recombinant obtenu et à récupérer l'alcool prényle dans le milieu de culture ainsi formé.
