The present invention provides novel isolated Wnt-7B-like polynucleotides and the membrane-associated or secreted polypeptides encoded by the Wnt-7B-like polynucleotides. Also provided are the antibodies that immunospecifically bind to a Wnt-7B-like polypeptide or any derivative, variant, mutant or fragment of the Wnt-7B-like polypeptide, polynucleotide or antibody. The invention additionally provides methods in which the Wnt-7B-like polypeptide, polynucleotide and antibody are utilized in the detection and treatment of a broad range of pathological states, as well as to other uses. L'invention concerne de nouveaux polynucléotides isolés de type Wnt-7B, ainsi que les polypeptides associés aux membranes ou sécrétés codés par ces polynucléotides de type Wnt-7B. L'invention concerne aussi les anticorps qui se lient de manière immunospécifique à un polypeptide de type Wnt-7B et tout dérivé, variant, mutant ou fragment du polypeptide, du polynucléotide de type Wnt-7B ou de l'anticorps dirigé contre Wnt-7B. L'invention concerne de plus des procédés dans lesquels le polypeptide, le polynucléotide de type Wnt-7B ou l'anticorps dirigé contre Wnt-7B sont utilisés, entre autres, dans la détection et le traitement d'un large éventail d'états pathologiques.
