A load-engagement device for engaging a load to be supported from an elongate support element and adjustable in position along the said support element, having a substantially rigid member with a first opening through which the said support element can pass freely, biasing means for biasing the said substantially rigid member to turn in a first direction about its region of contact with the support element whereby to increase the frictional engagement between sides of the first opening and the support element, and in which the force exerted thereon by the said load tends to turn the said member in the said first direction. L'invention porte sur un dispositif d'introduction de charge destiné à introduire une charge devant être supportée par un élément de support allongé, ce dispositif pouvant se positionner et se régler le long de l'élément de support. Le dispositif possède un élément pratiquement rigide doté d'une première ouverture par laquelle l'élément de support peut passer librement, un élément de sollicitation destiné à solliciter l'élément rigide pour le faire tourner dans un premier sens autour de sa région de contact avec l'élément de support, ce qui permet d'augmenter l'engagement par friction entre les côtés de la première ouverture et de l'élément de support, la force exercée par la charge sur ce dernier tendant à faire tourner l'élément dans le premier sens.
