Summary:A method for producing a recording medium comprises a step of forming a heat sensitive material layer (12) on a substrate constituting a recording medium or a stamper for producing a recording medium, a step of irradiating the heat sensitive material layer with a laser beam according to an intended fine irregular pattern to form a denatured part (12s) of the pattern corresponding to the intended fine irregularities in the heat sensitive material layer, and a step of developing the heat sensitive material layer (12) to pattern the heat sensitive material layer so as to form the intended fine irregular pattern. A pattern independent of the length of the fine irregularities can be formed by irradiation with a laser beam modulated at a frequency higher than the pitch of the fine irregularities. L'invention concerne un procédé de production de support d'enregistrement qui consiste à former une couche (12) de matériau sensible à la chaleur sur un substrat constituant un support d'enregistrement ou une matrice de pressage destinée à la production d'un support d'enregistrement; à irradier ladite couche par un faisceau laser suivant un motif irrégulier fin voulu pour former une partie dénaturée (12s) du motif correspondant aux irrégularités fines voulues dans la couche de matériau sensible à la chaleur; et à élaborer ladite couche (12) de façon à former ledit motif. Un motif indépendant de la longueur des fines irrégularités peut être formé par irradiation par un faisceau laser modulé à une fréquence supérieure à la hauteur tonale desdites irrégularités.
