Summary:The current invention provides nucleic acid sequences encoding the RIN and MC genes. Compositions comprising these sequences are described, as are plants transformed with such compositions. Further provided are methods for the expression of the RIN and MC genes. The methods of the invention include the direct creation of transgenic plants with the RIN and MC genes by genetic transformation, as well as by plant breeding methods. The sequences of the invention represent a valuable new tool for the creation of transgenic plants, preferably having one ore more added beneficial characteristics. L'invention porte: sur des séquences d'acides nucléiques codant pour les gènes RIN et MC; sur des compositions comportant ces séquences; sur des plantes transformées à l'aide desdites séquences; sur des procédés d'expression des gènes RIN et MC incluant la création de plantes transgéniques à l'aide des gènes RIN et MC par transformation génétique ainsi que des procédés de sélection. Les séquences objets de l'invention sont un nouvel outil important de création de plantes transgéniques présentant de préférence une ou plusieurs caractéristiques bénéfiques additionnelles.
