This invention generally relates to a method of sorting a plurality of recyclable or reusable plastic containers in a recycling plant. In particular, the invention relates to the use of predetermined fluorescent markings on an external or internal surface of recyclable or reusable plastic containers to identify and sort the plastic containers according to their composition, contents, or use. Additionally, the present invention provides a method for determining whether the plastic container contains a coating material for purposes of recycling, reuse, or quality control. Cette invention concerne d'une façon générale un procédé permettant de trier une pluralité de récipients en plastique recyclables ou réutilisables dans un centre de tri. L'invention concerne plus particulièrement l'utilisation de marques fluorescentes définies sur une surface externe ou interne des récipients en plastique recyclables ou réutilisables de façon à identifier et trier les récipients en plastique en fonction de leur composition, leur contenu ou leur utilisation. En outre, l'invention porte sur un procédé permettant de savoir, dans le cadre d'un recyclage, d'une réutilisation ou d'un contrôle de qualité, si le récipient en plastique contient un matériau de revêtement.
