La présente invention concerne des procédés et des compositions destinés à la prévention et/ou au traitement de maladies cardio-vasculaires, les procédés comprenant l'administration à des patients d'une quantité efficace de médicament anti-inflammatoire non stéroïdien seul ou en combinaison avec d'autres thérapies conventionnelles aux fins d'induire l'apoptose, de réduire la prolifération, d'induire la migration cellulaire d'inhiber la quiescence, ou d'influencer la différentiation cellulaire des cellules dans la paroi vasculaire et :ou d'induire une hypolipidémie.
