Summary:Provided is an image forming apparatus including a receiver, the image forming apparatus being controlled based on a copy mode for copying an original read by a reading device that is connectable to the image forming apparatus and a print mode for printing image data received by the receiver. The image forming apparatus further includes an image forming unit configured to form an image, a measurement unit configured to measure a measurement image formed by the image forming unit, a controller configured to control the image forming unit to form the measurement image, and to control the measurement unit to measure the measurement image, and a detector configured to detect a connection state of the reading device. The measurement image includes a first measurement image for the copy mode and a second measurement image for the print mode.
