Summary: | A system, method and apparatus in which RSVP path messages are modified to indicate that a failed source-to-leaf (S2L) sub-LSP or path has switched (or is switching) to a bypass S2L sub-LSP or path via a local-protection mechanism. Thus, a leaf PE node may choose to switch traffic sourcing from a primary tunnel to a standby tunnel even if the primary tunnel appears to be functioning properly. In this manner, any actual or potential suboptimal performance of the primary tunnel due to selection of the local-protection mechanism may be avoided. |
