Summary:A golf ball comprises a core, a cover formed from an ionomer resin and disposed on the core, and a cured coating layer disposed on and in direct contact with the cover. The cured coating layer is formed from a topcoat coating composition comprising a polymeric component and a halogenated component. The halogenated component is present in an amount of from about 0.5 parts by weight to about 50 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the polymeric component. A method of coating a cover of a golf ball includes applying the topcoat coating composition directly onto the cover. The method also includes, after applying, curing the topcoat coating composition to form a cured coating layer disposed on and in direct contact with the cover to thereby coat the cover.
