Summary:Methods and apparatus for integrating VLAN-unaware devices into VLAN-enabled networks are described. For example, a method of assigning a virtual local area network identifier (VID) to a data unit may include receiving a data unit encapsulated in a wireless header from a source host via a wireless access point, wherein the data unit is addressed to a target host. A VID is determined based at least in part on an identifier of a wireless network included in the wireless header, and the VID is assigned to the data unit.
