Production data may be stored in the primary database and failover data may be stored in the secondary database. Data from the primary database may be replicated to the secondary database. The maintenance procedure may provide for modification of the primary database and the secondary database to conform to one or more modified requirements of a modified version of the application. During the maintenance procedure, data in the databases may be duplicated, data structures may be modified, and modification of certain data elements may be prohibited.
