Summary:There are provided an apparatus and a method for detecting a frequency, the apparatus including a signal converting unit removing a high frequency component from an input signal and then converting the input signal into a digital signal, an edge detecting unit detecting an edge of the digital to thereby generate an edge detection signal having a predetermined magnitude, and a frequency estimating unit generating a pulse signal based on the edge detection signal and averaging the pulse signal at a predetermined interval to thereby estimate a frequency of the input signal.
