Summary:A display device includes display elements two-dimensionally disposed in a matrix; scanning lines, initialization control lines, and display control lines extending in a first direction; data lines extending in a second direction different from the first direction; and a scanning drive circuit. The scanning drive circuit generates signals based on an input pulse, at least some of the generated signals controlling the display state of the display elements via the display control lines. The duration of the display state of the display elements may be variably changed by changing the width of the input pulse.
