Detection of a substance using a first chemical sensor in a chemical sensing system may be initiated at a first time. The first chemical sensor may output a first sensor value. Detection of the substance using a second chemical sensor in a chemical sensing system may be initiated at a second time that differs from the first time by a delta value. The second chemical sensor may output a second sensor value. The chemical sensing system may be calibrated based on the first and second sensor values at the second time and the first and second sensor values at a current time.
