Summary:A method of manufacturing a cathode active material is provided. The method includes the step of precipitating step for providing a solution of a deposition component onto composite oxide particles including lithium Li and nickel Ni, removing a solvent from the solution on the composite oxide particles within a short time period, and precipitating the deposition component on surfaces of the composite oxide particles; and heating step for heating under an oxidation atmosphere the composite oxide particles with the deposition component precipitated on the surfaces.
