Summary:A method for determining an extension type of a system information block segment is described. A system information block segment of type extension is received in a system frame number. A byte in a system information block extension type lookup table corresponding to the system frame number of the system information block segment is calculated. A bit position in the system information block extension type lookup table corresponding to the system frame number is calculated. The extension type expected at the system frame number for the system information block segment is determined using the byte and the bit position.
