Summary: | Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate apportioning a radio link failure (RLF) recovery timer among a plurality of radio access technologies (RAT). Once RLF is determined, a RLF recovery timer can be obtained and split according to a timer allocation. The timer allocation can include equal or weighted percentages related to the plurality of RATs, and a timer can be split according to the percentages to attempt connection using a RAT during a corresponding portion of the timer. In addition, the timer allocation can be defined according to a type of communication. In this regard, for voice calls, the timer can be split among circuit-switched networks regardless of a network from which connection is lost, and/or the like. Moreover, the timer allocation can be defined based on RAT deployment characteristics. |
