Summary: | A liquid crystal display includes first and second substrates opposed to each other with liquid crystal therebetween, the first substrate having a plurality of drain signal lines and gate signal lines, and a plurality of pixel regions defined by the drain signal lines and the gate signal lines. The pixel region has a first electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer having a plurality of slits, a second electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer, and an insulating layer interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The second electrode is overlapped with a plurality of the slits of the first electrode in the pixel region, the first electrode is overlapped with the drain signal line and the gate signal line, and at least one of the first electrode and the second electrode is formed between the first substrate and the liquid crystal layer in the pixel region. |
