Summary:In a recording medium conveyance device for conveying a recording medium gripped between a conveyance roller which is driven by a driving device and has a number of protrusions provided on its surface and a pressing roller arranged opposite to the conveyance roller, there is further provided with a pressing force varying device for varying the pressing force of the pressing roller acting on the recording medium, wherein the recording medium conveyance device varies the conveyance amount of the recording medium by varying the penetration amount of the protrusions into the recording medium through varying the pressing force of the pressing roller by the pressing force varying device.
