Summary:The invention relates to an electrical connector which is equipped with a rapid disconnection system. In order to reduce damage caused to the electrical connector by electric arcs, the inventive connector comprises a release ( 15 ) and a spring ( 16 ). According to the invention, the release is intended to co-operate with a case ( 3 ) in order to authorise the movement of the disconnection device ( 4 ), while the spring, which is solidly connected to the case and the disconnection device, enables the rapid disconnection of the case and cover parts ( 2 ) forming the connector, thereby producing the rapid disconnection of the contacts ( 5, 7 ) which are attached to each of the two parts respectively.
