Summary:An electronic device, a storing means and a method for loading the user interface software of an expansion card in the electronic device. The electronic device comprises means for loading, starting and executing program modules in the electronic device. The expansion card can be coupled in a releasable manner to the electronic device. The user interface software is divided at least into a basic module and a user interface module. The loading of the user interface software is executed at least in two phases, wherein in the first phase the loading and start-up of the basic module is conducted, and in the second phase the loading and start-up of the user interface module is conducted. The second phase is conducted when the expansion card is coupled to the electronic device.
