Summary:An inductor includes a bar-shaped ferrite core and a spiral coil. The spiral coil is formed by removing a portion of a conductive film formed at least around the peripheral surface of the ferrite core. The surface of the ferrite core is impregnated with an insulating glass before the conductive film is formed. The content of the glass is preferably about 0.1% to about 20% by weight of the ferrite core. The ferrite core is preferably an Ni-Zn-based ferrite core.
