Summary:The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for operating an internal combustion engine wherein at least one control quantity of the engine is influenced in dependence upon a signal representing the fresh air charge. The throttle flap angle and the intake manifold pressure are determined and a respective signal is formed on the basis of the throttle flap angle and on the basis of the intake manifold pressure. The charge signal, which is formed on the basis of the throttle flap angle, is adapted to the signal, which is formed on the basis of the intake manifold pressure sensor, with the aid of at least one corrective factor.
