Summary: | A system and method for providing an oxidized liquid effluent stream substantially free of volatile compounds is provided. The system includes a stripper positioned downstream of a separator, or disposed within a separator. The method involves volatilizing volatile compounds by performing a separation followed by stripping, or in the same chamber as the separation. In another aspect, the invention involves adjusting the pH of the oxidized waste stream prior to stripping in order to convert ionic species to volatile species that can be removed by stripping. |
