Summary:The invention relates to a new catalyst composition which is suitable for the polymerization of an olefin and which comprises a reduced transition metal complex and a co-catalyst. The invention is characterized in that the transition metal complex consists of a reduced transition metal, chosen from groups 4-6 of the Periodic Table of the Elements, with a multidentate monoanionic ligand and with two monoanionic ligands. In particular the reduced transition metal is titanium (Ti).
