Summary:Disclosed is a process for anodically oxidizing aluminum alloy surfaces as a pretreatment for structural adhesive bonds or laminates. The process is comprised of anodically oxidizing aluminum and its alloys in phosphorous acid containing electrolyte to form a porous film comprised of Al, O and P.
